Creating Custom Affirmations
This is where the magic really happens! I can’t be in your brain, so there are probably a lot of negative thoughts and limiting beliefs I won’t cover in this post. That’s where you spring into action to create your own custom self confidence affirmations!
I go into way more detail about custom affirmations in my Fat & Free body confidence course, including this Self Confidence Custom Affirmation worksheet Download that I’m sharing with you today! Print this out and use it for the following exercise:
Draw a line down the center of your paper. On the left side, write down all the negative thoughts and beliefs you have about yourself. These are the “lies” you tell yourself when you are facing challenges or setbacks.
On the right side of your paper, you’re going to write your “truths.” For each negative thought you have on your paper, write down the positive affirmation to combat that thought. Some examples:
I am too fat to find a partner → The right person will love all parts of me, including my body
I can never do anything right → Everyone makes mistakes sometimes. What can I learn from this?
No one wants me in their life. I should just isolate myself → My friends love me and want to spend time with me.
Once you have a list of positive “truth” about yourself, take the list and hang it up somewhere where you can see it every day when you wake up. Use these morning affirmations for self esteem to give yourself a boost every day!

Turning Affirmations Into Action
You know the phrase “all talk and no action”? The same applies to affirmations. Saying these phrases every will definitely help shift your mindset from negative to positive, but if you want to see a full transformation, you’ll have to put these babies into action! Let’s use the examples from above to connect these affirmations to actions:

Action: I will include full-body photos on dating apps
Affirmation: Everyone makes mistakes sometimes. What can I learn from this?
Action: I will be gentle with myself when I make a mistake and create a system so it doesn’t happen again
Affirmation: My friends love me and want to spend time with me.
Action: When I am lonely, I will reach out to a friend to make plans or chat.
